This winter it was decided the base of the sculpture needed a bit of a refresh. The principle of the work is to allow the wood to decay, to grow moss and fungus.

      However it was felt that the annual plants that sprout up around the skirt of the sculpture should be dead headed and tidied up occasionally. Stopping the plants obscuring GD’s form and in effect letting the sculpture be a part of the yearly cycle of growth and decay....
